Conference Hall A - Section B & C

Organised by FIPEd, in collaboration with FIP’s Academic Pharmacy Section, IPSF and the YPG

Chairs

Aniekan Ekpenyong (FIP YPG, Nigeria) and Toyin Tofade (Howard University, USA)

Introduction

Following the Global Conference on Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences Education in Nanjing, China, FIP has committed to the development of the global pharmaceutical workforce and FIPEd has been charged with enabling this vision. The Pharmaceutical Workforce Development Goals (PWDGs) provide a global framework for developing pharmacists and pharmaceutical sciences; and monitoring the progress and implementation of these goals are paramount.

This aims of this session are to:

1) Provide an overview of FIPEd’s PWDG implementation planning projects and present new FIPEd tools, reports, and resources

2) Showcase global progress towards implementing the PWDGs through case studies presented by stakeholders, including FIP member organisations and pharmacy youth groups

3) Provide members and delegates with a forum to discuss continued innovation in workforce and health challenges. In particular, showcasing alignment with World Health Organization priorities facing young practitioners.
